Sure. Up to the point where known terrorist funds are injected into “free press” and incite violence. How many Taliban publications were red-flagged and removed from the internet by America? You do understand the difference between free speech and inciting violence, right?

Good post. At least you provided some content, instead of the ad hominems that make up the bulk of the replies here. It is worthwhile discussing these, but one of his main themes is that at Google (as in other settings like universities), these are not up for debate. Either you accept the progressive orthodoxy or you

You are literally the fucking problem. You and this mindset of “Oh shit who’s going to pat my back when I say this really righteous shit about this thing that’s popular to talk about right now”

“Anybody but Trump” basically became the de facto popular impression of Clinton’s message. What makes you more confident it will work next time? And what if the nominee ends up being Pence?

Can’t wait for this to happen.

i understand this is for bulk, low access storage but we know magnetic tape decays, so how exactly is this a long-term solution?

I want you to google the Barbary slave trade.

But the Mediterranean did have it:

Really? There was no slavery in the Mediterranean? No Hebrews enslaved by the Egyptians, no conquered peoples enslaved by the Greeks and Romans?

Let me introduce you the Egyptians, Greeks and Romans. They had slaves like motherfuckers, and don’t give a shit about your preconceived notions that there wasn’t slavery in the Mediterranean.

The Arab slave trade was especially brutal because they would cut off the slaves nuts so they would never have children in the land they were taken to. Didnt happen all the time but was a much more common practice.

First, I work overnight and dont read the news throughout the week. my first “day” off starts tonight, so I’m catching up a bit before sleep. what happened sunday? I haven’t seen anything yet.

Second, and this is a personal answer for myself. This site exists as a space for black people to speak about whatever they

As i explained in other part of the thread, I am not defending slavery. The article stated that africans “could not imagine that any civilized human being could possibly believe he owned another human being.”

I was pointing out that they, in fact, did imagine this. They had a system set up for doing this. Europeans

Thats just it, I dont understand the frustration. I didn’t come in here and scream that AFRICANS DID IT FIRST SO THAT MADE IT OKAY SO STOP HOLDING ONTO THE PAST BLARGLGLGLGLG!!!!

I was simply pointing out that Africans DID imagine people being owned by other people, and that the europeans took advantage of the system

Originally just a guy trying to point out a part of the article that was at best a sugar coating of the truth and at worst a straight up purposeful re-imagining of history. Kinda like when russians will tell you all about the horrible stuff the nazi’s did to them, but straight up deny the horrible shit they did to

Taking advantage of a system in place doesnt mean you leave that system untouched. Yes, European slavery and african slavery were different. But the europeans didn’t create a whole new system to acquire the slaves. They paid the africans to do what they already did (grab war prisoners, raid other villages, etc etc)

Well, considering this article is about white folks, you know like damn near every article Michael Harriot writes. That man dreams in Whypipo Technicolor.

Again I feel like a lot of this interpretation is simply looking for a message you wish to be found.

Ugh... I hate to think I might be defending someone defending the slave trade but... I don’t think that’s what this person was trying to say, at all?

Soo...yea...not true. I hate the idea of slavery on multiple levels, but this is a straight up lie. When Europeans landed in Africa, they pretty much took advantage of a system that was already in place. Yes, we cranked it to 11 with little regard for anything but profit and efficiency as we are wont to do, but we
