Yes. Flying cars would have to be 100% automated. There could be no human flying them.
Flying cars would work a lot better (if the energy requirement wasn’t so absurdly high). It would be vastly easier for autopilot software to function effectively in the air as all travel lanes could be designed to never intersect one another.

I did mean a VR-hud system of some sort, but really beacons in the sky are probably going to be necessary too. And I’m not really for manual piloting, except for those cases where the vehicle requires it or it isn’t a threat to other vehicles or the passengers in the current vehicle.
