well this made me incredibly sad after I was agreeing Shireen wasn't great. Like I want to go lie down for a bit because a random internet commenter made me reevaluate my feelings on a fictional character I had thought was "meh" until her horrific death... yeah I'm going to go do that. Game of Thrones Mondays are

I know that this is just the IOC trying to salvage a small glimmer of what this Olympics in Rio is supposed to be, but this is both a nice gesture and something that warms my cold, dead heart.

This is great and hilariously true. I just sent that to my brother. And the Madden comparison is also more true than I care to admit, but let’s not forget, Madden used to be very good before he became a caricature of himself. Anyway, I like Eddie and was surprised to find some people don’t, because I’m stupid like

Eddie Olczyk (pronounced Ole-Check)

I take great pleasure in all of the times Eddie completely ignores Pierre. It’s a running joke whenever Eddie is on Chicago sports radio (he’s the Hawks color man, hence my refusal to acknowledge any of his perceived flaws) that Pierre annoys Eddie as much as anyone.

Get out. Edzo is fantastic. He gives solid, detailed analysis is terms any sports fan can understand. I AM PERSONALLY OFFENDED.

Is there any surprise it was a reporter from ESPN asking such a dumb question? At least she didn't ask if he was elite....

do they stop and slow motion replay every entry into the zone to make sure no one is a fraction of an inch offsides? no? then the rule is applied arbitrarily.

Hawks fan here, and I absolutely HATED the goal that was called off. It feels cheap and undeserved. That fraction of an inch that can’t be seen in real time should not be a determining factor in the Stanley Cup Playoffs (of anytime for that matter)

mis-typed. should have said “so far behind the play” where the play is the actual goal being scored. And it is arbitrary in a large majority of these reversals because no one can even tell a players skate is a fraction of an inch off the ice without looking at in slow motion replay. While, technically, you are correct

If it's so black and white it should be called live. To waive a goal off on a play so far behind the puck, sometimes up to a minute before the goal even happened, is horseshit and arbitrary.

I wholeheartedly agree with you. It doesn’t even feel good when the opposing team loses a goal because of it (as opposed to rule infractions at the goal mouth that somehow do feel good when the goal is called off). It’s a shitty rule and I can’t believe the NHL has let it go on for as long as it has.

cold hands brought Sam and Gilly south and showed them how to get through the wall. It’s been so long since I read the books through I can't remember if he then took Bran back North to the 3 eyed raven. 5-6 books and 6 seasons of a TV show over about 15 years will do that to you I guess.

You do realize that some most, if not all, bottled water literally is just bottled tap water right?

Because his last name is Harvey, you see

Steph Curry is far beyond very very good right now and has hands down been the best player in the NBA the past 2 years. LBJ is a freakishly amazing unicorn of a player, but Steph has been better.

That was the feeling I got, too.

Bernstein is a smart guy, but he isn’t nearly as smart as he thinks he is.

so I take it you didn’t actually watch the game yesterday? It was incredibly exciting and great baseball. Two of Harper’s walks loaded the bases, leading to very tense moments in a very tight game. Also, unlike the hack-a-shak, walks don’t bring a halt to the game flow, game clock, and game action.
