Situational ethics is a key tenet of neoliberalism. Often given the euphemism of “pragmatism.”

It discriminates against people who can’t take holidays off. As other have observed, secure voting by mail or electronic means is a much better investment of resources if your objective is really to increase voter participation in a fair way.

There’s very little doubt, assuming they had at least marginally competent representation who was familiar with federal legal proceedings, that they were advised to take the original deal.

The depth of corruption in college sports is effectively bottomless.

If you’re going to run the country as a police state, then applying disproportionate law enforcement techniques at an early age can be considered educational. Or a desensitization process, or social conditioning, depending on your sentiments about authoritarianism. But make no mistake, this is how authoritarianism
