Every time someone talks about all the economic benefits of a sports stadium, I try to point out that the vast majority of money that people will spend there is just the same disposable income they were already spending somewhere else in the city.

It’s not like people suddenly pull extra, previously unspent money out

Even if your analogy worked (and it still doesn’t), nothing prevents someone from working at an NBC station in Green Bay from negotiating with a different NBC station in NY and changing jobs any time they want. NBC doesn’t assign an applicant to any city they want and then force them to stay there for 4 years. NBC

That’s such a bullshit analogy there should actually be a word beyond bullshit to describe it.

Football players aren’t employed by the NFL. They are employed by a bunch of independent companies. NFL teams aren’t branch plants of the NFL. The closest analogy would be having a bunch of companies that are represented by

Weve essentially reached the level of malfeasance on the part of NFL teams that I’m pretty much down with anything players can do to get around the system of indentured servitude currently in place for rookie contracts.

Do you know many vintage VW restorers owned by billionaires that refuse to pay for staff?

Really? I thought Joe McCarthy handled that.

So how much do you think the $27/hr guy should be getting paid and how much do you make?

Why would we want to pay a lot of money and commit to Mack?
Oh.  Right.

Reports indicate that Boston fans on the train taunted the man’s cooling corpse.

That isnt who I am
- every dude caught actually forgetting to hide who he is

If you have a bunch of cars in your yard that you’re working on, or at least have a realistic plan to work on, or at the very least go out and look at once in a while, that’s one thing, but dumping a car in a field under a tarp and then never actually looking at it again for years while it turns to rust sounds more

The next time some guy gets decapitated because the coverage team is worried that he’s faking a fair catch, we can all laugh about.

Hey, you know where we should consistently under pay on our team? On that one guy who we expect to routinely score a bunch of points and often is in a position to single-handedly win or lose the game. Who needs that guy?

“As with any situation where you have the parent of a coach talking shit, there’s truth to Robinson’s argument”

Wow, it’s gotta suck to have the single worst day of you life live on television with 60 other people depending on you. I wouldn’t wish that game on any kicker.

This story’s headline is holding out for a long term deal, but is expected to show up by week 10.

I love the part where the rando bystander swoops in to scoop up the cigarette. “Hey, that’s still good!”.

I just assume this is Jim Bob Cooter.

As always I point out that people who speak or act in terrible ways when they aren’t thinking or are enraged are actually showing us exactly who they are. Basically you’ve always been this kind of asshole, you’ve just managed to hide it until now.

The nav directions way the hell over on the far right seems like a deal breaker if you’re someone who drives a lot of places using navigation.  There is no way people can actually see those without totally taking their attention away from the road.
