I doubt you can find a “decent” running car for less than $2000 and 150K miles these days, much less trade a tv for it. TVs are just about the only thing people can buy cheaper than 5 years ago.

Uh huh... so then why were boomers were able to go to college, buy a house, a car, and raise a family on a single minimum wage income? They seem to have had it pretty easy, if the Silent Gen “acreted power” before them.
I really like avocado toast. Not that it matters.
and didn’t pay even close to$40K
But if you’re making shit money, maybe you shouldn’t be buying the average new car.

Where does it say that young people are buying 40K cars or more?
lol as if used car market hasn’t been crazy in the last two+ years. You’re just an old man yelling at the cloud
Yes, and you are less likely to have an existing equity in a vehicle for trade in or even substanial savings for a down payment. Heck, you can’t save for the “next car” after paying off a car if you are a new workforce participant in need of transport.
Keep in mind many of these Zoomers will have student debt too, so mortgage (maybe), student debt and auto debt - throw in some credit card debt too and it’s a house of cards.
tbh, it might not really be a zoomer thing. if you’re young and making shitty money and the average price of a new car is like $40K, then there you go.
Yes hygiene and mask are a big factor, that’s why asian countries did better.
I honestly don’t care about someone’s personal decision to vaccinate.
If I had a nickel for every time the inside of my skull got X-Rayed by an oncoming Acura MDX...
It would need an EV BOOST button with bigger motors. Press that bad boy coming out of corners or press and hold it for the 1/4 to do 12 sec runs.
Napleton Valley Hyundai did that to me when I got a Veloster. Had to go back twice, actually. However, I ended up saving like $200 on the total transaction, so it was more of a giant annoyance having to go back there than a financial issue. Got a pretty solid life lesson on handling dealers and car financing after…
I had this happen in the early 90s. Nissan dealer called us up a week later, tells us the financing fell through and wanted another $600 down to get the rate and payment we signed up for.
We don’t need a law because car dealers care about their reputation? Since when?
Dealer franchise laws: Always protecting the consumer. Always.
Yet another reason that I drive a 18 year old Acura that I paid off 15 years ago.
