It's not their fault. Extreme right wing views are a reaction by a vulnerable psyche that is unable to cope within systems that promote equality and objective truth due to an overly authoritarian, patriarchal upbringing or thought disorders that lead to extreme paranoia, xenophobia and imposing social hierarchies.

"Partially because I think specificity in language matters - patriarchies are largely legal as well as cultural entities, and while there is an attack on women's body and personhood now, the fact that we even recognize that as an attack on personhood says an awful lot about how much we don't life in a patriarchy."

I remember reading an article about Judd going to a village in west Africa and totally assimilating, even walking around bare breasts, totally within the daily life of the community.

Race is not a social construct. Ask your friend anthropologist. Or evolutionary biologist. Say brown is beautiful if you want, praise the culture in which a race arises but if you rob a person of their racial identity you are often robbing them of their cultural identity. You may be American and think that's okay,

I don't know, but they all want to give us anatomy lessons.

That is a bit technical.

I'm sorry, I don't know who this is, so I guess I was "inhabiting another universe."

We rocked.

Wow. It's amazing how stupid Manolo's come off in different contexts.

@HereKittyKittyKitty: I agree. My reaction would have been 'NO' too. But I would have followed up with offering my help to interview a professional event person. I think Rach was just trying to be cheap by asking her assistant to do this.

@TheJerseyDevil: When I'm old I'm going to wear crazy hats. I can't wait.

False sense of complacency? Ugh. I never understand the argument for ignorance.

@Cry4Hemp: What happened to my star and avatar? I worked hard for those!

This is just Atlanta suburb crap. I don't think it represents America as a whole. Or am I naive?

She's got good hair, tho.

I want a doughnut. Like, now.

@hortense: That's exactly what I was thinking! I dressed like this in 1994, but with pink streaks in my hear and fishnets with generic cardigan-wearing-grunge boyfriend on my arm. It's not pervasive. It's retro! And like all clones, a little dumber than the first time 'round.

@hearmeroar: He's always had that southern gay gentleman vibe that is so endearing to me. I love his voice and 'dreamy' stage presence that borders on cheese but is still adorable. It's perfect for Broadway.
