While we’re at it let’s talk about the Toyota Camette concept from 2012. I assume the designers were out late and had just a little too much sake. Hey guys let’s build an electric car with interchangeable body panels so you can make it whatever you want for the day. It’ll have 1+2 seating and the driver’s seat can be

You just never know until you get in one. Have you ever sat in a 1st gen Mini Cooper? I’m 6' and I can scoot the seat all the way back until I cant touch the gas pedal with my dangling toes. Seat goes all the way to the floor so you cant see over the dash almost.

For how long are we going to keep calling these compact hatchbacks “crossovers” and accept the fact that modern cars just have more generous ground clearance than before ?

Loans aren’t the same as mortgages. You can mortgage as many times as you want.

it’s a hint that somebody might slip up and accidentally let a teammate die

Or a valet. Such cutting-edge tech is not for people who park their own vehicles. So there will be a backup of some kind you can hand to people, in which case why not use that?

I’m somewhat similar - tech-loving guy, I like the Model 3, but with two kids, soon a dog, and visiting in-laws, I want something with a third row. A model X would be cool, but I’m not spending six figures on a car. I really like the Rivian R1S, but it’s two years from volume production (optimistically), and is going

“Meh” is precisely why this thing will sell like gangbusters. “Meh” is what the people want, so “meh” is exactly what they get.

Came here to say the same. It’s a tall hatchback. And by “tall”, I mean it has a lot of greenhouse.  It doesn’t look like it has any more ground clearance than the Model 3. A crossover is a cross between a car and an SUV. This is a cross between a car and a mini-van. I thought the same thing when the Model X came

*looking around nervously*

It’s not the cops you have to worry about, it’s parking enforcement and other, less occupied officers. Got a $60 ticket in Chicago because I was parked by the Lincoln Park Zoo without a front plate.

When run-of-the-mill EVs work seamlessly for both commuting and road trips, we’ll see the electric car revolution. Until then, not so much.

You don’t have one of these?

My car takes less than five minutes to fill, and I can park it on the street and forget about it. See, mine is better.

I don´t care if it make it more complex, but a manual transmission.

Recharge like I can refuel. Quickly and everywhere. Do that and I’m in, everything else will follow.

If a Smart ForTwo can pass crash tests, why couldn’t a cabover pickup?

How often do you crane your neck 150 degrees to look out your driver’s side rear window? Adjust your mirrors properly and you don’t need that window:

I like the exterior, but that interior is hands down a home run. It looks incredible! Sure, there’s still a protruding screen, but that is the only demerit I see and if I’m being real honest doesn’t even matter to me since I like the ergonomics of having the display up high.
