What bugs me about the design is that the turn signals are pretending to be headlights and headlights are desperately trying to be hidden in the design... like no one will notice the light blaring out of the two square holes on the sides.

Wow. That is a really lame wheelchair solution. I remember the Karsan V1 was supposed to have an "electrically powered wheelchair ramp with pop-up side rails for safety can be controlled by both passengers and driver that can be deployed from either side to allow curbside access." I've never thought the new vehicle had any drawback beyond it's horrible design.

It would be dumb to eliminate. For one, it's cheap tech. Second, for as much as people have been praising the death of radio it's still around because it's easy: turn it on, flip around, turn it off... No apps, connections or subscriptions to worry about.

We just bought a Mazda with a proximity ignition key. So now I have to unlock the car with my fob, put it in my pocket so I don't forget it when I leave the car... then when I leave, reverse the process. It was all one graceful motion before pull out key, unlock car, start car with key (and reverse).
