For a HIIT-style workout, you should rest for about the same amount of time it took to complete the exercise. So if you do crunches for 30 seconds, then rest for 20-30 seconds before moving on to your next exercise. If you do five push-ups and it takes 10 seconds, take a 10-second rest before continuing.
