Fair - I’ve done it with all but one of my louboutins since they only go on the toe portion- you don’t see it unless you’ve got your feet propped up and stops the red from wearing so they look nice longer.

As an fyi- any decent shoe repair place (cobbler?) will adhere a matching red rubber so the sole won’t wear off. As a plus, it makes it much less slippery to walk in as well.
