Odds are that Aaron has a good reason for cutting them off. In my experience, kids don’t freeze out their parents lightly. If anything, they justify and rationalize to avoid having to do so.

Con Te Partiro.

Like I really love Donald Glover but I bought Camp and even though I know he was taking it seriously, it felt like novelty rap. Probably my “good rap ended in ‘97 or ‘98" snobbery, but just didn’t feel it. But anytime he’s onscreen I’m in there.

No love for Daniel Dae Kim? What is this shit. Jin 4eva.

Not a huge fan of the Paper Boi character even tho I like Brian Tyree Henry. But Darius is one of my favourite characters on tv right now. And Donald Glover is obviously a genius. But Childish Gambino is kind of wack. In my humble opinion.

One of the best emcees ever and has basically never disclosed a personal detail on record (as of Undun, can’t say after that). Cut the check, give it here, and don’t say nuthin’.

Wha gwan

Ted is THE WORST. Fortunately, Robin, Barney and Marshall are all fantastic.

I did not like the special agents sub-plot either. But the emotion did hit me, mostly like a ton of bricks when I finished the book and it settled in my head for a few days.

I went through a period where I tried to catch up with “the classics”, but I’ve found it hard to relate. In university when I was reading those tomes and I was told what they were supposed to mean, I thought I was in the wrong place. Maybe I need to try again.

Thanks for the recommendation! Will check it out!

I’m only on season 3! I crushed literally the first 30 episodes (Season 1 plus part of Season 2) on a recent sick day. I knew it ended controversially and couldn’t help but look into it, and it does seem like a really stupid ending. But I read they had to film the ending a couple years before the show actually ended

None of these are exactly “novel choices”, but if you haven’t read any of the following: The Goldfinch, All of the Light We Cannot See, or Infinite Jest (my favourite book, and yes I’ve actually read it), do so! All books you will keep thinking about long after you put them down.

See! He loves his African Americans!

Uh, pretty sure that’s just Leonardo DiCaprio in What’s Eating Gilbert Grape.

Fortunately, I didn’t actually mean that. I had two defence lawyers among my groomsmen and I have numerous colleagues I tremendously respect who were/became defence lawyers.

The idea of participating in someone’s wrongful conviction literally keeps me up at night. Fortunately, I don’t think it’s ever happened. ;)

I don’t work in the United States. As far as your system goes, I agree. Never in a million years would I elicit evidence I knew to be bullshit.

A word on Werner Spitz, who’s mentioned in this post. I’ve now been a prosecutor for 15 years. He was called as an expert witness in literally the first case I ever worked on.

Should wait until Trump opens up the libel laws. America is definitely not litigious enough as it stands.
