In that case it’s as deadly as a cell phone, they explode sometimes too.

How many people died in house fires caused by a smoker falling asleep? At least when a vape explodes in someones pocket, it won’t (or hasn’t yet) burnt down a building. Although that flaming thing that fell out of his pocket could have set a rug on fire or something...

Let’s use that same rational for fat-asses. “Quit eating McDonalds and Twinkies, or insurance won’t cover the help you need in later life.” Hell, let’s do that with alcohol too.

You can survice without caffeine as well, but people like it and use it all the time, and some people are even addicted (horror of horrors!). Nicotine’s effects are very similar to caffeine. Get off your high horse.

If breathing excessive water vapor could cause issues, I’d expect to see people up in arms about hot showers and steamrooms.

It’s funny what a enormous percentage of the commentors actually know nothing about vaping.

2 kinds of vapers:

Stop sticking stuff in your mouth! Believe it or not you can survive without nicotine, billions do!

“In conclusion, the article is creating false impressions and exaggerates the potential risk from diacetyl and acetyl propionyl exposure through e-cigarettes. They failed to mention that these chemicals are present in tobacco cigarette smoke and violated a classical toxicological principle that the amount determines

My only point is that I vape (and yes I find the word to be just as annoying as you) because I am trying to quit smoking, and this is the best way I have found that works for me. I am currently at around a half pack, down form 2+ a day.

Agreed. I think people who tend to be in the anti-vaping camp only frame it in the context of getting non-smoking young people addicted to a new product. (Which I kind of agree with)

Not to mention that most of the “vaporizers” don’t vaporize and don’t produce vapor. They produce mist/fog/aerosol, a very different thing from vapor. It’s the same principle (and largely the same liquid) as in the fog machines at concerts.

Or just use liquid without diacetyl.

This needs to get way more attention, because thats absurd. Although, all of Adam’s articles about e-cigs have been pure alarmist absurdity anyway.

I’ve read that the concentrations are less than what is found in a regular cigarette... Also, plenty of high-quality liquids don’t use it.

So the next time you ask me to stop vaping, is it ok for me to light up a cigarette, or should I just tell you to go fuck yourself?

Is it as strange as omitting which liquids were used? or what devices they were used in? or the fact that the diacetyl scare was so 2 years ago, and most flavor manufacturers now provided diacetyl-free flavoring?

The study doesn’t seem to show where/what the testing samples were from. Any liquid from China poses a much higher risk of having crappy components included in the flavors. Legally, they can’t say where they came from but this is more sensational than anything else.
