That stunt person is amazing! They hardly let out a single bubble of air. That must have been almost impossible to manage on some of those longer takes.
From the caption:
It's true, though
Good for you! I’m glad it all worked out. My department works closely with partners at Machias. The UMaine System is collaborating better than any point in the past; I’m also teaching grad courses via Augusta with the tuition coming to UMF.
One year, the undergrads I hired were big into snakes. They’d taken herpetology as an add-on to their range science degree. Those kids wouldn’t rest until they had a positive ID on any snake we heard or saw. Fantastic field crew, and tough.
It's also pricey...
Maine does have a bunch of colleges. An unaccountable amount, given our population. Even the UMaine System has 7 campuses.
You’re brave! And nearing the end of the school year...
I never learned why, but maybe they just assumed college was remote?
Felony disenfranchisement doesn’t make a lot of sense to me. But if we have disenfranchisement, it really only fits as a punishment for fraudsters. I’m not sure they can actually be rehabilitated.
Lol, I teach at UMF. I'm here because of skiing! Titcomb is brilliant for kids, and Saddleback reopened this year as you surely know.
Unsurprisingly, they had to use different roofs for the installed array than what they'd planned. The roof that couldn't mount the safety gear doesn't have panels. Instead, they ended up on a shadier roof, but the different aspects end up averaging out reasonably well across the day. And we're in Maine, so the "shady"…
The spiny lizards are really neat. We saw am alligator lizard once; that’s a strange animal.
Partway through my PhD, I thought about dropping out to start a sky burial company at the Grand Canyon to feed the condors.
I did my dissertation in the Chiricahuas, and have been all over that range, deep into trailless places. The USFS isn’t really allowing much grazing except for at the lowest elevations anymore.
No brake jobs, bc of the regenerative braking...
The 2015 Nissan did way worse than I expected
I want a small van. Mazda 5 would be perfect, especially in a manual. They are hard to get, and by the time I need to replace a vehicle every Mazda 5 in existence will be too rusty to pass inspection.
I don’t begrudge them this. California has the worst air quality in the US, and it's not just LA.
