Lol that’s amazing.

College Professor here. I give closed-notes tests. But I have students take them with a partner. Obviously, they have to be able to talk about the answers.
I want him conscious enough to know he lost in a landslide. I want him to at least go out knowing how loathed he is.
I'd think coaches would like the masks. No more lip reading what they're saying!
I’m paying for dental, vision, and health insurance that my family can’t use bc annual checkups and cleanings are canceled. Insurance companies are making out like bandits here.
I have to imagine Citadel grads were miles worse than VMI.
Removing their accreditation, or disallowing NCAA competition until VMI renounced the confederacy would be another way to force change.
So, a bong vacuum. Neat!
Holy shit: 2% fired each year? That’s astonishing. I’m a professor, and of course know a lot of other profs. I personally only know one tenured professor who was fired.
Also, I have 2 cars and ride a bike. It's not like we don't pay taxes. Gas taxes don't even pay for roads anyway, maybe 63% or so.
Road users break rules. In general, people break the rules they feel safe and comfortable breaking. Jay walking, riding slowly through an intersection on a bike, speeding in a car... All those things are violations, but only some are dangerous to other people. Driving a car puts other road users at risk.
The last thing I ordered at Taco Bell (2+ years ago) was a Mexican pizza.
A few years ago, I heard a news story that interviewed Dreamers deported to Mexico City. I was surprised to hear a few of them say they missed Taco Bell. But it does make sense that they equated the food with a certain “states-side” flavor.
I need to have a colonoscopy because of a recent (Feb) diverticulitis attack. I put it off to avoid the hospital during this pandemic. Maybe unnecessarily, because my county has had 52 cases of Covid. But mostly because I wasn't happy with the surgeon: he talked about white hat hackers during our consult, and I had a…
I don't volunteer my time or body to for-profit ventures. Kaiser would need to pay me to test a vaccine they'll make a lot of profit from.
Some friends of mine tow with their Yaris. Super functional vehicle, and great mileage in the manual.
I think the second amendment still allows adults to have knives, which are multi-purpose tools unlike firearms.
Professor here. Weak employees don’t win tenure. We have to hit high marks in scholarship, teaching, and serve on committees (‘governance’ means doing a bunch of work to keep the university running), while also donating our time for peer reviews and other service.
I worked on a trail crew in the late 90s with a woman who had scurvy. What a mess. She also drove a Hondamatic motorcycle that was so underpowered she’d have to push it up hills sometimes.
Unfortunately, the US Supreme Court rules that cops don’t need to know the law. This, in response to a case in which a NC cop stopped someone for an infraction that didn’t exist. Supreme Court said it was reasonable for the cop to think the law might have been real.
