the lessor car

I’ve never driven a short wheelbase Wrangler for more than a minute; mine is the longer wheelbase Unlimited (but still 2 doors). I’d like to get one of the smaller ones to have fun with.

I’m not a jeep fanboy either. Finally got a few hours of off-road time in a ‘90s jeep a couple years back and was at first very uncomfortable. The short wheelbase and automatic meant that drifting around turns on dirt took a level of commitment I wasn’t happy with compared to my old Subarus on the same roads. ( jeep

It’s a real Animal!

And I don’t even like Jeeps.

Business idea!

i sought symmetry with the title of the article, but i did in fact consider it.

Gotta love them guys. They could have just taken the easy way out and bought a relatively new running Jeep to go to Moab, but that story wouldn’t be nearly as fascinating.

Exactly nothing in that second sentence is really under consideration here. (I really had to think about whether I wanted to mention the Cherokee in the first place, but seemed germane and nothing has ever really replaced it.) A Jeep is a Jeep.

Renegade is trying to make you think you bought a Jeep, and not a Fiat 500X, but you did buy a Fiat 500X. Same with the Cherokee, but you bought a very weird Alfa. Compass and Patriot, you have AWD Calibers.

Why do I think Geely and other Chinese car manufacturers will start selling cars through Walmart- at the discounted Walmart price?

“within the span of a half hour.”

I wonder just how shitty the Supra auto is.. I dont remember driving many “good autos” (if there is such a thing) in the 90's.

How much would it cost to convert it, though? If you can afford that car, you can probably afford to make it a manual.

Automatic = CP. Especially in a Supra. At risk of being called a “stick shift bro”, whatever the hell that means.. If any car was meant to be a stick it was a 90's Supra. Why spend $80k, go 9/10 of the way there, then get an auto? I would have a different opinion if this was a luxury GT.

Here’s the funny thing. It’s a requirment to pay attention with EVERY highly automated vehicle. I’ve worked onboard ships for more than a few years and at NO point underway is someone not on the bridge on lookout even when the ship is sailing on autopilot. It’s the same with us in engineering; monitoring the engine

This system should not exist.

Or hire them.

I wonder how many cocky Tesla drivers are going to have to become road pizza before the rest figure out that Autopilot doesn’t do everything for you and you still have to pay attention.

Key part of the article being missed “Fields was also found to be driving under the influence and with an open container”
