Like quite well known in the indie scene, popular with comedians and runs in some of those circles. Has small roles/cameos in a few movies and sitcoms and was the band leader on the Mystery Science Theatre 3000 reboot, if that gives any indication of the guy’s level of fame

Internet Archive does preserve media including software, even flash games. They have had legal challenges, but they (rightfully imo) argue they are no different to a library. You can download and play old games, stream tv and movies etc. It’s by no means comprehensive, but it’s constantly growing.

I appreciate this article, most media coverage finds piracy so taboo it essentially pretends it doesn’t exist. Obviously I can appreciate why that’s the case, but it can get kinda absurd.

For the city involved is it tho? It’s a huge money sink, pretty much the only reason cities vie for it is the massive amount of tourism it generates short term. The legacy benefits are pretty much zero, a lot of purpose built stadiums fall into disrepair, funds for scholarships dry up. At this point they’re pretty

Even if that format didn’t quite land I’m glad I got introduced to her through that channel, and it’s good to see she has another show now doing more regular cooking, cause she is a charming host.

... many threads, characters, and plot points that have been set up across all three seasons. If you are deeply engaged in those details, in the great question of What Is This All Building Towards, then you will be satisfied.”

Oof Jesus I forgot she married that other guy. When his London Mayoral bid fails he'll probably end up as Morgan's replacement.

I wasn’t making a comparison between the two, but if I was the UK media would still beat out the US. More or less our entire media is right wing, the BBC has had its director chosen by the government since the beginning of this decade, and the current editor of the Daily Mail is about to become head of our national

I never thought id say something nice about Chris Evans, but he's not Piers Morgan.

I hate the cunt, but if you get out of the phone hacking scandal squeaky clean with an even more lucrative career I’d say the confidence is pretty earned. He knows the world is geared exactly around people like him and his rich, powerful friends.

Bring back the big breakfast.

Literally everything he does is a grift. He has no real opinions, he generates outrage. Half the time he generates outrage on behalf of some other party linked to the PR agency he’s signed with. He’s every tabloid hack in the UK who lasts in the job more than a year.

The UK media is more or less entirely a right wing old boys club. Same reason we currently have an ex-’journalist’ prime minister who has been sacked several times for lying. Make the right friends at uni, rub shoulders with the right hacks, and you’ll never have to worry about work again.

The ends of Monsters Inc, Ratatouille, and Porco Rosso, and Picard joining the poker game at the end of TNG. I don’t cry at sad things but bittersweet final moments like that get me every time.

Ah sorry I misread 'his story' as 'this story'. I also absolutely do think he'd do that, the guys straight up ruthless and power mad.

The first half of this series was really good.

The hero is the fed doing war crimes and shooting innocent people he has a hunch aren't real?

Hayward was a second rate moustache twirling villain from the start. Even if he wasn’t, its frankly on him to prove he’s not evil as the director of a secret supernatural military organisation.

Olsen and Bettany are wonderful in a heartbreaking scene that’s possibly the last time we’ll see them together. The White Vision or Cataract (also Bettany) is still out there, with his memories restored”

Counterpoint: Tom Waits getting a paycheque is a huge point in this stupid production’s favour.
