The Monkees are actually on their farewell tour right now.

I would’ve, but then I read some stuff about how his first marriage ended.

Yes, the professional Lennon-McCartney rivalry was an essential ingredient in getting the best music out of both of them. In their solo years, it was replaced by a more personal rivalry that was actively detrimental to some of their work.

Eh, there was definitely a time (basically pre 2000) where McCartney’s contributions to the band (and music in general) were largely denigrated while Lennon’s were put on a pedestal. I can see how that immediate backlash has left a lasting sore spot for him.

When I research the band’s later years after Epstein dies, (and granting potential bias in the authors and subjects) it seems Paul was the the only Beatle who actually gave a shit about being one anymore.

It’s astounding when you read any of the many books chronicling their day to day life/recording sessions.

I love their music to death, but the more I read about all of them the more they all seem kinda like assholes. But what can you expect, they were all so young experiencing unprecedented success/fame and basically inventing the rock and roll star paradigm.

Paul was absolutely right about Klein. But he was probably too young/arrogant to realize how trying to get his father-in-law instead came across to the rest of the group and actually drove them to Klein.

Yes. The more I think about this fantastical premise, I guess the closest analogy is someone who lives in a “developed” culture traveling or living in a “developing” country. So I guess some people are into it or would be okay with the loss of advancements.

In Back to the Future, Doc Brown stays behind for Clara. But that’s sort of an iffy case because he stayed to save her life, and got stuck as a result. (And then built his own time machine, but I digress)

I’m trying to think of other stories in which a person willingly goes/stays in the past for love. Time After Time and Back to the Future III (sort of) come to mind, both funnily enough involving Mary Steenburgen. Probably some Doctor Who episodes.  Oh, and Outlander of course.

Ted Lasso: Bond saves the day with kindness, dad-jokes, and homemade biscuits.

For me, the length was part of the appeal. The effect has probably been overdone since, and probably not justified most times, but I remember how breathtaking the whole sequence was because of it’s length, intensity, and that it was exciting the whole way through.

I really wish they would remaster that sequence of the fight. I’m sure they could make it look so much better without even needing the performers to return or anything.   Because even with the special effects lacking towards the end, it’s such an innovative and suspenseful fight and you wish the effects were there to

I think either Ted finally intervening and helping Nate will be sort of a climax to this season’s Ted arc (ie-Ted’s back), or Nate will leave and return next season similarly to how Jaime left and returned the following season.

I could see him not feeling like he fit in within Leia’s realm of galactic politics, or his son’s fall shaking him until he retreated to what he knew, or some scandal reducing him to smuggling again.

Yeah. So like obviously the women who are left would try to figure out how to continue reproducing through cloning or whatever, but I don’t think they’ll be able to figure that out in time (or ever) for a lot of the animal species before they just die off from extinction as a result of some very small generational

Because it’s still a long way until December. The first trailer just dropped.

It would certainly get better. But the immediate aftermath of half of all life on earth dying instantly would be a chaotic hell-scape for a little while, whether they were of one sex or not.

I was really excited about the comic when it first came out, and though I stuck with it I was eventually disappointed by how superficial it all ended up being. I never felt like it truly delved into the world, themes or the characters. Partly because it was so focused on just a few characters, one of which was Yorick
