I don’t hate the Breath games but this is probably the best roundup of the things that I do hate about the Breath games. This list certainly sums up what keeps me from thinking they’re even close to being the best Zelda games.

One thing I’d wished for in the previous game was the ability to cook multiple things at once if you had the items in inventory. Instead of crafting one pie or soup or cake, if I have the ingredients to make X amount, it would be nice to do so instead of going back into the cooking animation a dozen times.

Same here. I found BotW to be really dull, actually. Maps too large, no dungeons, didn’t give a shit about cooking, the weapon system was annoying, and the story just didn’t grab me. Fair if people do enjoy it, nothing wrong with that, but just not for me.

12 year old me who didn’t have to maintain an adult life would

Really looking forward to cycling through menus to replace broken weapons. Nothing excites me more than added busy work in a game.

I have the exact same sentiment. Worst mechanic they adopted in BotW, and killed my enjoyment of the game.

Still has weapon durability? Still hard pass.

I can see why BotW was popular but it just never hooked me. I’ve tried 3 times to play it and always get bored and set it down after 5-10 hours and by the time I go back to it I can’t remember what I was doing, where I needed to go or how to even use the controls so I start over and stop playing after 5-10 hours again.

Ahhh, it still has the weapon breaking system. Hard pass. (on any game that has that asinine mechanic)

Like BOTW? Is it gonna be more mindless open world wandering, with a weak story?

I’m probably going to wait a couple months before I pick it up. Don’t have the time to get engrossed in a massive open-world game as we move into summer, and it seems like one of those games that’s going to get heaps of praise out of the gate because Zelda and then the rose-tinted glasses will wear off and we’ll have

This perfectly describes my experience with BotW. Also, IMHO, LttP is the better Zelda game.  And Elden Ring is a better open world.

wow, i’ve found my people in this thread

Thanks for commenting this. I feel insane sometimes thinking that way about the game. There is a lot to like about BOTW and those mechanics aren’t inherently bad, but they are not implemented in an enjoyable way in this game. The crafting is okayish, and the fetch-questy stuff can be fine, but the weapon durability

The latter half of that game really forgets to reward players with anything meaningful. Weapons and rewards get no stronger and enemies only get spongier as the background math goes up.

You gotta admit it really set the standard for... uh... well the world is... no... I mean the weapons... hm... if you find 900+ koroks you get a bad hat?

-changed how many saw open-world experiences with its freeform approach to exploration, combat, and puzzles.”

My issue with it is that for those of us who don’t have hours upon hours to sink into are left directionless and have no idea how to proceed except for to aimlessly run around. That’s where Elder Scrolls and Breath differ. If I want to run through the story in an Elder Scrolls game I can do that. I can explore if I

I feel like BOTW’s open world hype is forgetting that open world non-linear adventures were already an established genre. I think the community at large forgets that Elder Scrolls games have been doing it for a long time already. Even before Skyrim, the Elder Scrolls were sending players off into massive sandbox

She’s probably half senile but not enough that it makes her any less stubborn. She’s lost the plot.

Dems not holding her accountable and saying she needs to resign immediately is just another tick in the box for “why Dems are so goddamn shitty at actually winning in government despite being the better of the two parties”

Repubs would gladly drive over her in a monster truck with their own children if it meant they
