For the "my OKC profile says I enjoy rock climbing but um actually" outside-thing-stuff enthusiast in you!

A friend of mine was raped by a long time family friend when she was in her twenties. They had phsyical evidence and they had a confession from him. But the cop assigned to her case (this was LAPD) advised her to drop the charges because he "seems like a really good guy who feels really badly about what he's done."

So if a woman gets a degree in English and a man gets a degree in Chemical Engineering and the man has a higher salary, then that's sexist? And how is women earning more than men an "equal society"? Salaries between women and men should be equal within the same job/industry.

Dude, there a tons of *people* who get passed out drunk every weekend. Gender specific it ain't.

So I start the article and I'm like woo someone finally saying do what you want, then I kept reading...

aren't all CEOs kinda gross? even if there was one that volunteered at an animal shelter every tuesday i'd still be suspicious of that fucker.

Whatever he is, he makes some very good points in that interview.

That bit with the Muslim friend was orientalist and patronizing.

I find the bit with the "hijab"/whiskers a liiiiiittle problematic, especially given France's relationship with Islam and head coverings. The rest is completely brilliant, especially the scene with the police.

"A rather feminine looking man"

I'm a vegetarian, and have no problem with this. The funny thing is that all my friends and coworkers who think this is sooooo terrible eat meat. And much of that meat likely comes from animals that lived far worse lives and were probably killed less humanely than this giraffe.

I agree. I am even a vegetarian and I'm not particularly upset by this story. If I were upset or obsessed by the fact that zoo animals who eat meat are fed other animals I would have a hard time getting through the day. I would also have a pretty hard time having dinner with most of my friends.

I'm a meat eater but fairly comfortable with where it comes from. I know people, though, who donate money to SPCA, WWF, etc. They post those horrible memes about animal cruelty on Facebook, talk about how they want people who hurt animals to be raped in prison, etc. And yet, these same folks won't even consider

I think it's important to remember that even if Mia was a horrific mother, that doesn't mean that Dylan is a liar. You can dislike Mia without questioning the experiences of an abuse victim.

But why is it so terrible? Dissections are a part of science classes — it's an insanely useful teaching tool to be able to actually look at the parts of an animal. It's not as if people were forced to watch this, it was available for people to see. I was a budding ecologist fascinated by top carnivores and predation

Seems like a great way for zoos to deal with excess animals and to provide high-quality meat with some variety to their creatures. Frankly, I am all for this and supportive of their choice. The zoo even used the butchering of the animal as a teaching opportunity, which is great! Really dispels the notion that meat

If you eat meat- I don't want to hear you fucking complaining about this shit.

When you read the story and the reasoning it makes perfect sense.

What you like sexually does NOT define you, that's the whole point you completely missed there.
