Jesus, that's sickening.
Jesus, that's sickening.
Oh man, that is just so, so depressing. What the fuck is wrong with people?
I read this story over breakfast this morning, and it's so fucked up (though I imagine not unique). From the article:
Oh god, I've met so many people like that! There's a kind of person my friend calls "fundamentalist hippies" who are kind of like the liberal equivalent of conservative religious people. They're both pretty ignorant about the way science and evidence-based investigation work, leading to deeply-held bizarro beliefs…
I think the funniest thing about raw foodists is that they (at least, the ones I've met) claim their diet is healthier because cooking "kills the beneficial enzymes in food." Guess what enzymes are? Proteins. Guess what your digestive system is designed to do? Break down proteins. Your stomach is going to start…
Speaking of Photoshop of Horrors, has Jez linked to this: [www.buzzfeed.com] ?
Now we can add reason #583925732 to the list of Why MRAs are Morons: they actually believe this story. Christ.
Why did someone have two dozen dogs in their house? I hope it wasn't a hoarding situation.
I hate Harry this season. What the hell happened to him?
I know a lot of people would disagree, but I never thought Betty was one-dimensional or uninteresting. Childish and self-absorbed, sure, but I always found her fascinating and sympathetic, even at her worst.
Yep, that's the plan. Cross your fingers for me!
Thank you! I'm going for it.
Yeah, I wasn't a huge fan of those either.
Haha, thanks :)
Flourless chocolate cake!
It's a flourless chocolate cake recipe, and it does call for more sugar. I don't like things too sweet, so maybe it will be ok?
Man, this needs to be put on billboards everywhere. I hate the "But I was just being honest!" excuse for being mean.
In the book, I think they're supposed to be very bizarre, decadent, and over the top. To me, the looks in the movie just weren't weird enough, and they looked poorly-made to boot.
I'm in a related field (at least, it's in the biological sciences) and the advice that I was always given was to look for a potential adivsor, rather than a program or school. Professors typically have a lot of control over who gets admitted, and the person you work under will have a huge impact on how your PhD goes.
