Without more research I don't know that we can be sure most cosmetics are not safe, but I agree that the statement above is totally misleading and that many cosmetics have the potential to cause problems in our bodies and the environment.

Yeah, one of the takeaways I got from this article is that most people who diet are putting an amazingly huge amount of time and effort into losing weight. The whole fat=laziness thing is just so, so wrong.
