From what I've seen most phones that are about a year old will probably get an official port of ICS. Many others will have custom ROMs that often times perform better than whatever is stock.

No. Subsidized tablets should not exist with the speed that technology improves.

I'll stick to my Kindle app thanks. I'm actually looking for more things to read whether it be books or magazine subs or even comics. If distractions are such a problem just turn them off when in reading mode.
