To anyone who really knows Rotary Engines are exactly as reliable as their owners, no more, no less.  You can get away with skipping maintenance on a honda civic, but you cannot on a rotary engine.  In the racing world they are FAR more reliable than any boinger, because you can keep them clean.

The thing is, electric grid demand over the past 10 years has essentially been flat, on average.   Primarily because of LED bulbs and other drops in usage.  That’s even with the increase in electric cars.  It’s expected to start increasing again once most buildings and homes have mostly switched to LED.
