You pretty much did the exact same thing the Ghost in Destiny 2 did. How am I supposed to care about the difference between the factions when the game puts forth so little effort to differentiate them?

It’s looking like the same philosophy that EA uses with The Sims franchise. It’s all an excuse for them to resell you content that you have already paid for under the illusion that it is somehow different this time.
I didn’t play the first Destiny and didn’t look into the lore much at all before playing Destiny 2 on PC. And I have to say that the story for Destiny 2 makes almost no sense to a new player. After about an hour in, I had to ask my friend (who did play the first Destiny) “What the fuck is happening and why should I…
And here I was thinking the government was using fires as an excuse to dump gallons of orphan blood to form large summoning circles to summon demons from hell. I mean, all of these politicians have to be coming from somewhere.
Both Riders in Mass Effect Andromeda. In fact, most of the voices in Mass Effect Andromeda. Granted most of the cringe inducing voice acting was heavily due to the bad writing, but if everyone was silent I could at least pretend it sounded cool in my head. Hearing it out loud just made it painfully obvious how bad it…
If the ESRB was doing its job in the first place, they wouldn’t have let things get to where they are now. Them brushing off the predatory tactics of loot boxes with poor excuses meant that this was an inevitability. They failed at protecting the consumer, so others have pick their slack.
I miss the days where you would find a random human finger in your hotdog. If only regulation hadn’t gotten in the way. Next thing you’ll know they’ll be putting in regulations that limit the amount of rat feces or insect parts that can be allowed in the food you buy.
And then you get on the servers to flaunt your advantage only to find out that the only people who continued playing are those who already pumped $100+ into cards. Everyone else quit out of frustration.
I wonder if this is a result of the Belgium Gambling Commission looking into EA’s practices with loot boxes? If they are worried about the outcome of that investigation, stopping the sales of loot boxes could be considered a preventative measure to limit the amount of damages they would have to pay out.
You can’t sell or trade anything from loot boxes, so that comparison isn’t the same thing as loot boxes. The same logic applies to TCG’s in case you were thinking of making that argument. The ability to completely bypass the randomized reward kinda changes things. Not to mention that the rewards in loot boxes have no…
They’d be less evil if they gave people the option to buy the skin they want directly rather than forcing people to go through the loot box system which is designed to trick people into spending more money than they realize to get the item they want.
To use one you still have to constantly stabilize their DNA otherwise they become less effective. But since you bring it up, the whole stasis aspect makes it annoying to make preset builds with those pets. The wait timer to pull a pet out of stasis just adds to the disadvantages that they have against Sentinels.
Supposedly, if you spend a ridiculous amount of time and resources to fully forma the Kubrows and max out their mods, they are pretty effective end game pets. Of course, the only people to make that claim are the long time Warframe veterans that have so many assets that they can afford to waste large amounts of…
Not to mention that the Sentinels aren’t deathly sick with cancer. That’s the only lore reason I can think of for having to constantly stabilize their DNA.
“Not if the buyer is aware of the lack of transparency and affirmatively acquiesces to it, like you do when someone buys a lootboxes.”
Transparency isn’t “as long as we aren’t caught deceiving you we are being transparent”, it’s “we are making our practices fully known so that you know we aren’t deceiving you.” And not providing full transparency for a purchase can be considered against the law. For instance, not disclosing pre-existing conditions of…
You can’t assume that everyone knows this stuff right off the bat. I never see a disclaimer saying “loot chances in loot boxes are subject to changes as we see fit and we reserve the right to never tell you how likely it will be to get the anything you want from them.” But for some reason you always see the “Online…
How would you know that the game isn’t worth the money if you don’t play it first? You seem to be under the impression that all pirates have already decided that the games they pirate aren’t worth their money. What about the pirates who pirate a game and play it in order to make a decision on whether or not to buy it?…
You seem to misunderstand about the tricking aspect. The part where they trick you is where they don’t list the drop rate for items in the loot box. You can’t make a sound purchasing decision if you don’t know the chances of getting the item or items you want. Lets say a loot box cost $2 and the item you want has a…
And the fact that these video game companies are tricking people into paying exorbitant amounts of money for something that, by your own words, has “no actual value” doesn’t bother you? That seems way worse than gambling in my opinion. At least casino’s have to pay out of their own bank if you “win”.
