Why would a Doug import a Nissan?

Gonna haveta overnight parts from Japan though...

I have heard PA described as Philly on one side, Pittsburgh on the other side, and Alabama in-between.

That's the one that's a Chevy sonic or spark underneath, right? Pass.

My Ford Ranger has small dents above the rear wheelwells where I put my forehead while trying to pull the wheels off. F150 aluminum wins

My girlfriend once asked me if it was a problem that white smoke was pouring out of her car. I told her that it was no big deal, it just means they haven't chosen a new pope yet.

Here's a screencap of me working on my VW:

You can almost buy 3 V6 Mustangs for that, waitaminute.

  • Thinking this is exciting

So you´re importing a Skyline GT-R. Bravo Doug, bravo you magnificent bastard.

It's disingenuous though. Saying "it's so much cheaper if you don't factor in X, Y, and Z" sort of blows it out of the water. Frankly for me the biggest part is the time factor.

My parents did it a lot. They started way back with a 1988 BMW 528i and 300E Mercedes. After that it was when the lease period was up who had the best car at the time. our timeline was BMW 528i 1991 infiniti q45, 1994 q45, 1997 528i, 2000 A6 4.2 quattro, E500, 2008 550i sport. So i mean it was more about whats awesome

Every car company I have ever dealt with allows (and even encourages, in some cases) actually custom ordering the car you are going to lease. BMW even gives a large European Delivery lease discount.

Lease your transportation car, buy your fun car.

So your time is essentially worthless? Good to know, I need someone to paint my external garage for me, what's your #?

If you're investing a lot of your time and labor in older cars, that's great but your time and labor have considerable value.

While I agree with you 99%, you left out one of the obvious reasons people lease: a cheaper short term option with no repair costs. In your scenario, if someone can only afford $300 per month, they either have to finance the used car for $300/month (36 months @ 5%) or lease a BRAND NEW car for the same amount.

Tavarish really needs to stick to losing money on decade old GM shitboxes. This was painful to read.

I'm gonna go to Home Depot and make my own out of some metal pipes and stuff. How hard could it be?

Subsidy whores, hm? Just like those oil companies who get far, far more subsidies? Or the farmers who get far, far more subsidies?
