When I got around to taking Home Economics in the 2000's, it was basically just how to sew and bake.

This raises another important point. How are kids supposed to learn financial management if their parents are terrible at it? Not everyone has an accountant for a parent.
There desperately needs to be a mandatory high school course on how to get through life: managing finances, getting (and paying off) a loan, writing a resume and cover letter, maintaining a portfolio, interview prep, etc, etc. There was a course that I thought was supposed to be these things when I was in high school,…
What a completely original and perfectly logical conclusion to changing a phrasing to be more inclusive.
If I had her money and body, I'd be rocking this style every day too.
I suspect there are a LOT of contributors to these numbers; the US has a higher population of people who are very rich, and therefor their food bill would be significantly less. Also, in other countries, especially those in eastern Europe and Asia, food is such an important part of the culture. Eating huge meals…
Every up-and-coming judge should have to write an essay explaining what is and isn't 'legitimate rape'. Those who come up with shit like this should be immediately disbarred (or whatever the equivalent is for judges).
And yes, I have read the thread. All I see is you continually running in circles, making statements and then immediately contradicting them. You're entire train of thought is a confused mess. If people aren't following you, it's not them, dear, it's you.
But even if you prescribe the pill for non-birth control purposes, it's still going to have the side effect of preventing pregnancy, thus nullifying the distinction. You're just saying those who 'intend' to not get pregnant should have to risk it, or pay for it.
I don't know where you're getting your information, but I've never had someone say I "should" take birth control. It's always been presented as an option. The only 'should' I've ever heard, is that you 'should' use condoms, which is a responsibility that lands, generally, on the man.
I'm not processing it because it's completely illogical. You don't get to have it both ways. Either the employer covers it or they don't. They don't get to choose 'when' they cover it, and they don't get to decide when it's a 'legitimate' medical issue (although Chihuahabella has made several good points for why the…
How is it not a medical need? There are numerous medical reasons for someone to take the birth control pill. You keep saying you understand how it helps people with medical problems, then turning around and then saying it isn't a medical need. You're going in circles.
If it's everyone's responsibility, then why are you railing against the pill? If a couple (or a single woman) makes a choice that they want to go that route, why do you care?
Yes, drugs have side-effects. All of them do. Why are you attacking BC over, say, antidepressants?
Dear Jezebel: Millennial =/= Moron. Try again.
So sad, but so true.
I'm not usually one to defend Catholics, but isn't Hobby Lobby Pentecostal?
By your own logic, why should it be than man's responsibility to do the family planning? That seems like misandry to me (and I hate that word and the people who cry about it all the time).
I think I see your point, and I think it comes from a good place, but I also think you're missing the larger point here. Yes, male hormonal birth control has been in the works, and yes it has been stalled due to things that did not stall female hormonal birth control (lower desire & other side effects). That being…
I have to say, sometimes the trolls come in handy because they cause people to actually post useful information that clarifies what I found to be an otherwise confusing article. Thanks for the info!
