I can understand a charge for criminal negligence, or manslaughter, but murder? God. This poor man and his wife are grieving, just leave them to it.

This is devastating, and not even close to the first time this kind of thing has happened. I wish I had an answer for how to stop it from happening, but this was an accident, pure and simple. A terrible, horrifying accident that this man will have to live with for the rest of his life. Horrible.

What's most infuriating is that even though the shooting was completely accidental, this will still feed into the "good guys with guns" stereotype because the guy wasn't supposed to have a gun. As opposed to the more accurate, "People shouldn't have guns because accidents happen, and gun accidents kill."
