Same here. I'm sitting here trying to put a name to the emotion I'm feeling. It's almost panic, which is silly and over-reactive, but I can't really help it. I'm genuinely afraid of a group of internet assholes.

I didn't realize this until just now, but apparently if LeVar Burton cries, I cry.

This is awesome! I love that they're showing different kinds of beauty.

Fuck this guy.

I don't know shit about this survey they're talking about (Canadian), but this is one of the most offensive things I've ever seen, on any level. So demeaning, and so dangerous.

Of course this turdface is going to work on Wall Street.

True story: immediately after watching this video, the man and I went out and bought Jenga and played it for two hours.

This is probably the best reply on the whole "not all men" subject I've seen.

It's not catfishing if you do it right. Just don't start or carry on conversations. The entire purpose is to see how many people reply to you, and then what happens after you politely turn them down.

I agree the way it was stated as "sounding board" is the wrong choice of words, but I get the meaning behind it. There's a difference between using a friend as a sounding board and using someone who we know wants something more with us - I suspect the latter is was the OP was talking about.

This dress is truly horrific. From the side it looks so pretty, but the front is just a trainwreck.

It completely depends. I had a desk job where I was treated so poorly, and so miserable that I had to quit. Being unemployed and sending out resumes is incredibly stressful, but at least no nobody is beating me down day after day.

Yes, thank you. Either contract, or term positions, so even if you do get in with benefits etc., you still have no job security. They're letting people retire out and not replacing them, completely stalling the natural process of job growth and movement.

It sounds like your job really sucks, sorry for that. Hopefully something better will come along, or this one will turn around for you.

Not only that, but the actual discomfort associated with sitting in the same position all day. People end up with life-long back problems because of desk jobs.

Plan programs and services, create in-depth communications and marketing plans, manage account for massive organizations, discover new revenue streams, etc, etc.

Ugh, yes. Nothing is worse than open concept. It's just a way for people to always keep tabs on you and what you're doing, along with the assumption that if you're not chained to your desk, you're not working.

I love this idea in general. That's how I will probably do my wedding - asking for donations in lieu of gifts.

I think it's tacky to "expect" a gift, but when you're hosting an event where gifts come with the territory, I don't think there's anything wrong with giving a little direction. I like the whole, "Your joining us for our special day is a wonderful gift to us, and that's all we need or want. If, however, you would like

Frankly, I find the gift of an experience (dinner and movie, etc.) much more meaningful than, say, another picture frame (without pictures in it!). I always, always, always prefer to get a certificate or cash over an item that I wouldn't have picked out for myself anyway.
