Obviously I'll reserve judgement until reading some of the new books, but so far - especially compared to the creativity of the Krakoan era - this looks like a generic yawnfest.

Honestly I wish they had stayed in the Krakoa era for the next 20 years. There were so much unused potential in that setting.
The forest moon of Endor?
The thing about WW1984 is that it’s bad in such weird, confusing ways I can’t imagine it’s JUST her fault. And knowing what an utter trash fire WB films, and the DCEU in particular, are behind the scenes, I’m not prepared to say “Patty is a bad director because her movie is bewildering nonsense.”
For a moment, I was confused that she didn’t look like the lady who played Shmi Skywalker.
It seems almost all the people who wrote letters then have since apologized due to they were lied to about the type of charges this man was facing….
Marsden was 16 when he first met Peck and 30 when he wrote that letter in his defence. Something people don’t quite understand is that sexual predators don’t just groom their direct victims, they also manipulate people into seeing them as harmles.
You think AV Club has any idea by this point? They are basically just throwing (misspelled, unedited, inaccurate, lazy) s**t at the wall and seeing what sticks. Smirking snarkiness is just their default, except it is now completely unearned with this current iteration of the site. It seems like their strategy is to…
They wrote an entire article yesterday about Dan Schneider, and somehow managed to spell his name wrong at least half of the dozens of times that they mentioned it. The subject of the article, and they couldnt bother to spell his name correctly. Getting paid to be a professional journalist, but too freaking lazy…
The problem isn’t the inability, or refusal, to calibrate your feelings seeing the Original Trilogy as a young person with seeing the Prequels as an adult. Or whatever the last three are being called as an older adult.
I have been reading this site so long my brain has been scrambled. I can’t tell anymore what’s snark, what’s “sarcasm”, what’s a hot take, and what’s just pop culture knowledge I’ve aged out of. The prequels are now “once despised”? And that’s hard to believe? They are still dog shit in my book.
I don’t blame any of the actors for those movies being bad, everything I’ve seen points to Lucas wanting them to act like they’re bad actors playing poorly written parts.
Yeah the younger people I work with would have seen it as kids and think it’s great, they don’t have the perspective of the folks who were adults then.
Lisa and Jake Llody
No, the prequels haven’t been “normalized” or redeemed. Showing them on regular cable a lot doesn’t make them better. Excusing them as “children’s films” or pointing out that Rise of Skywalker is worse doesn’t make them better or justify their low quality.
Reading the context in this article, mind it sounds to me like a bunch of the people supporting him weren’t necessarily aware of the extent of what he did?
Registered sex offender doesn’t always mean child molester, contrary to popular belief. It can apply to a wide range of offenses, some that have nothing to do with sex, such as public urination. The idea of the list is important to have but the generalization that it continues to apply does more damage than it…
Obviously a valid objection in this case, but a registered sex offender getting work is not in itself a bad thing. Guy abused a kid and the show had kids so, yes, of course, horrible, but the issue is the offense itself, not the registry. That’s a policy can of worms that’s not fun to talk about but is actually very…
Yep, hard to keep momentum when it is 2+ years between seasons and then they only drop 8 episodes broken in half separated by 4 months.
“Prime Video’s animated series remains a great remedy for “superhero fatigue””
