I was really sad to hear about this, though it’s obviously been coming for a long time.

Team Shannen

I think there was an animals show too. I remember getting my first job during the run of Real People and rushing home after work to watch the last 45 minutes of the show and crushing on Sarah Purcell. No VCR back then!

It made me sad that someone who seemed so full of joy and enthusiasm felt he needed to gradually remove himself from public life.

Say what you will about how diet and fitness have evolved over time, but Richard Simmons was the rare gem that actually gave a crap about actually helping folks get healthy and happy. Sweatin to the Oldies and all his videos/ specials were filled with real people who were there to get active in whatever way they could

And Shelly Duval earlier this week.  I guess she was more a 70s icon

Dr. Ruth and Richard Simmons on the same day.  Farewell, legends.  The 80s really are over.

Who can forget the enormous power Rosemary Clooney wielded in 1980's Hollywood when George Clooney got his start? Studio executives cowered in fear that she might sic Danny Kaye on them.

Probably minority opinion: The nepo baby issue is overrated. The last name gets you the interview, you get yourself the job. And she’s absolutely right that the expectations are higher.

Nah, Myrtle was a cis girl who thought she was safe in the girl’s bathroom, until a duplicitous boy busted in, flashed his snake without consent, and then murdered her. A cautionary tale.

I dunno about “terrible.” Anodyne and middle-of-the-road, sure. (with apologies to Alfonso Cuarón) Rowling in particular has put me off wanting to spend any more time or money on Potter, not to mention my increasing disinclination toward revisiting endless IP franchises. Like, yes, it sure is fun to wallow in

Ah, yes, the Inhumans model.

Oh Christ I can totally picture that happening. And they just wear either regular clothes or a very basic costume until the last episode of the season before getting to suit up for about one scene.

They run out of ring charge in the first five minutes of the first episode because then it can just be a nice cheap cop show.”

Is anyone surprised?  Hollywood has zero moral compass when it comes to their own.  They honor rapists, pedophiles, and woman beaters.  But then turn around and try and tell the rest of us how we should be living our lives.  Its the most morally bankrupt place on the planet filled with the most morally bankrupt people

Honestly, I’m glad he’s out of the MCU. I don’t get what the appeal of the dude is - as an actor. He’s obviously an awful person but I can’t see why he was getting raves for his performances. Fussy, pretentious, indulgent, with zero charisma. But I seem to be in the minority. What am I missing?

He seems very disingenuous to me. Everything from his defense attorney’s pre-trial shenanigans, to breaking up that fight, to dating Meagan Good feels very calculated and manufactured. That’s certainly not unique to him (Tom Cruise has had a very controlled public image for decades), but Majors is too young and too

“I'm all for growth, unless you've ever done anything wrong. You should be perfect and grow from there."

Any time I’m tempted to say “To hell with actors who are rich heirs” I have to remember Julia Louis-Dreyfus. Dammit, Margot!

Maybe you are making a joke, but the Armand Hammer he is named after made his money in oil. He did buy some stock in Arm & Hammer as a joke, but the name is completely coincidental.
