“ And I think you do that because you built this argument purely to defend a movie you like, and cast people who don’t like it as unreasonable, rather than out of a genuine interest for audience reaction and myth-making theory.”

In Enterprise it was said they look pretty much these .
No one is saying MOS is not a Valid interpretation of Superman.
“We only have to look at other works, namely hundreds if not thousands of interpretations of Shakespeare to see examples of this.”
We’ve discussed this multiple times before, but I did sone thinking since last time, I think you’re missing a part of the puzzle. While I do agree that fictional characters are extremely flexible, I think you err in assuming there is no limit to their flexibility. Because clearly there is a limit, otherwise being a “Su…
How far does that logic actually extend though? Like, if I sat down and wrote a story about the day-to-day life of an auto-mechanic named Steve, but I titled the story “Superman”, would you defend it as a valid interpretation?
While it’s true that there’s no “one true” version of any character, there are some characters or franchises which are so tied to particular ideas that if you’re telling a story with them and not sticking to those core ideas then your story needs to be reacting against or commenting on them. Superman is conceptually a…
It was fine. Not good. Not horrible. Fine.
Yeah, Strange New Worlds has the more “traditional” episodic structure of the original and TNG and just “feels” more Star Trek than anything that’s come since TNG ended.
I spent 3 years working in comics in the 90's and I know very few people who stayed in. The ones who did though, tell me what page rates from the Big Two are these days and it’s insane that they are sometimes actually lower than when I was still in the industry over 25 years ago. Comics is an awful business run by…
Not until they can figure out how to format it as a slideshow.
Only the media gave up. Covid just doesn’t bring in the ratings that Trump and his MAGA cult are currently doing.
covid is still real and killing thousands of people daily. it’s just not being reported on. Guaranteed covid played a part in this.
I just started watching “Shiny Happy People”, the expose on the Duggars and their Christian cult. Seeing how the Christian message has been perverted (pun intended) to go from a message of love and hope, to a message of fear, control and sexual perversion is quite horrifying.
Yeah, he just doesnt look like superman to me.
From what I’ve seen Hoult is probably the strongest acting choice, amongst those three... but I can’t imagine that guy playing Superman unless he can somehow put on, like, 50 pounds of muscle.
Brosnahan as Lois Lane is something I hadn’t thought of before but I could instantly see it. Color me intrigued!
Poorna is excellent whatever role she’s given.
I also love this show! Poorna Jagganathan is so great as Nalini, but so is Maitreyi Ramakrishnan as Devi. The rest of the cast ... is adequate.
I love this show.
