Ron DeSantis looks like (and is) a butthole with a hairpiece. That is all.

First fell in love watching Pushing Daisies. Clicked on the link to his very hot partner’s Insta - how do these two not spontaneously combust together???

Lee Pace is just the latest of many proof points over several decades that my gaydar is deeply dysfunctional, because I, a straight woman, seem to be primarily attracted to gay men. If you’ll excuse me, I’m off to rewatch Pushing Daisies for the nth time.

Being an animator, I naturally assume that Lasseter crashed noisily through the window, bounced off an awning, and landed in a dumpster. Then hopped up, dusted himself off, and strolled whistling across the street to Skydance.

I don’t think I’ve ever even heard anyone talk about Discovery+ outside of A.V. Club articles. I know, intellectually, a lot of people like cheap reality garbage and will binge Ice Road Beauty Hoarders or whatever, I’ve just never met any of them.

Simple question (which means I know it is already above the heads of anyone in the executive reaches of the entertainment industry):

I think the legacy of the 1941 Animator’s strike still looms over the industry, and anyone who works with Disney. There is a similar situation, where the Disney animators sought to unionize to get better wages and hours, and while they were successful in the short term, in the long term Disney made them pay, keeping

My parents, when they’re not watching cable news?

There’s something about them, and pretty much all other property show hosts (especially the married ones), that I just...just fucking can’t stand. I wish evil upon them.

Also one time Chip ate a dead cockroach off the ground in an episode and they played it off for laughs, but like...who THE FUCK does that.

Finally , quality programming on HBO Max that I couldn’t possibly get anywhere else and is no way similar to any other show!

Who wants quality scripted series when you can have awful reality TV?

Seriously, welcome to working life in the United States of Corporate America.

I hope they do unionize, because I don’t see any way Disney even bothers paying lip service to this issue. With WB in the state it is now, it feels like they could be emboldened to be even more callous and evil and still not be the worst company in the industry.

“an atmosphere where everybody feels like this is the most desperately important thing and, if we don’t do it, we’re all fucked.”

Discovery took on a load of debt in the merger - I think it was like $30-40 billion. Discovery shows are cheap, HBO shows are expensive, so they’re pinching pennies and dumping salaries to try and look like they’re profitable. It’s pretty terrible. Like, why buy WB/HBO if you’re just going to try to make it like

Just axed Discovery+ the other day as I am tired of the sensationalistic nature of so many scripted American reality series (You really start noticing it after watching a ton of David Attenborough docs). I really like HBO Max but looks like I will have to say goodbye to it soon too.

Of course they’d want to ruin the only streaming service I actually like.

Warner Bros. responds:

I haven’t read a word of this yet, but on behalf of all AVC readers, thank you for not making this a slideshow.

This is absolutely beyond wild. To spend as much money as they have, to essentially have the film by and large complete…. To have Michael freaking Keaton returning to the role (albeit for the second time)… and to give up on the film just like that?!
