Haven’t we all seen this movie already? Like five times.

I wouldn’t go that far. All of these references/easter eggs are the best sort: bonus references for the die-hard fans that if you don’t catch it, you aren’t missing anything in the main story. I feel it adds a nice touch for those in the know without leaving anyone behind.
Meh. We’re getting to a point where everything in Star Wars is a reference to something else in Star Wars. Soon we’ll be referencing past references if nobody actually starts coming up with something new.
It’s really only happened once - we got a big change from TOS Klingons to TNG and forward Klingons, with one explanation for how that happened. They look a little different in the undiscovered country, but not to this extent.
Come to think of it, yes. It’s funny that Donald Trump is actually making America great again by becoming the villain (and asshole) who unites your country and it’s people to stand for the principles of your foundation.
- A proud Mexican neighbor salutes you all.
This right here. This and ACLU lawyers rushing in to defend the civil rights of people unjustly detained in airports. The protesters spilling into the streets. The indefatigable dedication to inclusivity, kindness, and standing up for the vulnerable, the marginalized, the voiceless...
There’s a bigger lesson here than “Fuck Uber.”
Shelly Long? From Cheers? I think she’s fine and well. Shelly Duvall on the other hand actually worked with Kubrick.
Either Kubrick directed some episodes of Cheers that I’m not aware of or you are talking about Shelley Duvall.
What happened? Life. What a life she has had and continues to have.
A few years ago, we saw her live doing Wishful Drinking on Broadway. Two things about the wonderful performance: we sat in the front row and were anointed with glitter by Fisher; as we were leaving, some uptight old broad from the UES kept saying, loudly, “Oh, she was so beautiful—what happened? Why did she let…
My best guess: It will turn out the Terrigen Mists don’t kill mutants. It just puts them into a death-like state while it changes them. He’ll come back more powerful than ever. Until, it turns out that making mutants inhuman drastically reduces their lifespan. Then, they’ll use reverse-engineered Celestial tech to…
Also, soooo completely miscast. I mean, seriously - who the fuck is going to be scared/worried about evil wizard Johnny Depp coming after them? Evil wizard Colin Farrell coming after you? THAT you would worry about...
Wiccan of the Young Avengers is both gay and jewish.
I always loved that the show started with this fleshed-out, lived-in universe, but what I really liked about the show was how it reimagined characters, institutions, and relationships that were longstanding in the comics universe, but flipped them in innovative ways. Superboy has his 90's origin, with some very…
Besides the cliffhanger ending, I hope they’ll also feature the return of someone who seemingly died but maybe just entered the source of their powers and will come back from it...
It’s really just Kitty Pryde, isn’t it? (I suppose Sabra exists, but nobody remembers and she doesn’t do much, so I’m not sure she really counts.) And Kitty is at least subtextually queer.
As I said above, season 1 is solid, but it is season 2 where the show really started to shine. Like a lot of great shows, season 1 is really bogged down by trying to establish the core characters and the foundations of the world, and it is season 2 where everything really starts to gel.
I think season 2 was objectively more mature in its storytelling. Season 1 was great, and probably one of the best seasons of non-comedy animation aimed at adults in American history, like a lot of truly great shows, it wasn’t until season 2 really shined
I re-watch this show constantly. Probably seen the 2 seasons at least 10 times now. It just did everything so well, it’s hard not to watch it again and again.
