Other than a few scenes that are only similar, the show is completely different. The main story from the comic is completely missing, and the origin story at the forefront of the show doesn’t exist in the comic.
“How exactly did the Union and Sheldon’s “code”—which boils down to “superheroes don’t rule or kill”—come to be? (Comics readers will of course have some notion of this, but again, there’s so little that isn’t spelled out in this show that a trite origin story passes for intrigue.)“
In the comic there was no code. I don’t remember it even being a thing in the comic at all... Brandon wasn’t in the analogous scene taking down Blackstar, he wasn’t killed, but the Union broke his back to take him down. Also, none of the heroes was killed by Blackstar either.
I, Claudius is a masterpiece, a classic, that transcended wigs. How could you even tell if that production had bad wigs? I wouldn’t be able to identify a hard front versus a lace front at that resolution it’s so SD! Such a great show.
I think you do this on purpose...
Same... I don’t recognize what I watched as related to the comic. I am going to go back and re-read the books, but I am kinda mystified by what was presented on the show.
[ethereal tinkling] LOL
I have to disagree, this show looks even worse/cheaper than a CW show. I immediately thought, “cosplayers produce better costumes than these.” The make up, the wigs.... woof. The sets for the past aren’t bad, but the present is so genaric, or is shot in such a tight frame, so as to not need any art production. It’s…
Jupiter’s Legacy is the only Millerworld comic series I have ever read, and I enjoyed it. I am not gaga for it, but I enjoyed it. The Netflix series, of which I am only on episode three, isn’t that representative of the comic. Yeah, it’s the same story, but I don’t know, it feels like a different animal. It’s been a…
Also had to look up Nimble Jack as he was clearly not what we are presented with... He is played by non-binary actor, Vinnie Heaven. Not sure if that will be anything deeper within the show.
Good catch! Her very obvious color contacts was distracting, but I hadn’t caught on to who she was, manly because I didn’t know the actress out of Maladie makeup, but looking her up... Effie Boyle is definitely played by the same actor, Amy Manson. So Maladie is either an act or another personality, that she can turn…
and Russia, Chechnya, India, Pakistan, etc... yep.
Am I the only one who finds the picture of Finn... off? It is disturbing me. Is it just a weird angle? Is there truth to having a good side, and this one isn’t Finn’s? He looks uber creepy here.
I like Symone, happy for her win, but looking back on the lip sync between Symone and Tamisha... Tamisha was robbed of her place in the initial winner’s round. Drag Race is fun to watch, but it is way less fun knowing how little of the show is simply beating the other queens each week, and is really the producers…
“There is no denying that Elgort is conventionally attractive”
Yay, Symone, Congratulations!
So why exactly do they ask viewers/fans to “vote”/hashtag the queen they want to win? How does that work with this finale scheme in which the winner of a series lip sync-off win? Voting means nothing.
Nope. I just cannot care.
There was a time Disney might not have even hired him as a cast member, only pretty people were hired to be guest facing cast members.
