This is the most frustrating thing for me. I’m very much a “practise what you preach” kind of person, so I try to stay home when I’m really sick, and I tell other people to do the same.

I’m super lucky to be in a union, so I get a reasonable amount of sick days, vacation days, and I can accrue lieu time if I have to work overtime. Lieu days would be used for things like snow days or the random Friday afternoon.
