I found the extended shout-out to "Broadcast News" at the end interesting. Considering they virtually recreated the famous tape scene, I wondered if there was some greater meaning to it.

I thought the same about Matthew Perry. I know he hasn't been kind to himself, but he looked bloated and seemed to be slurring his speech. This distracted me from the impact of the Mike Kristeva storyline.
