You still need to rebuild an STi engine for any decent power. There is little difference between EJ255 and EJ257 overall. Swapping the STi transmission requires a new diff ratio in the rarest form that isn’t the STi diff. And to put in an STi diff you’re looking at weird hybrid spec b axles or a full suspension

I tried that once, but didn’t know how electric parking brakes worked and messed up the rear calipers changing the pads. $1000 later it was fixed…

Friend and I tried wiring an ECU for my 1JZ based on pin outs I determined (had never done it before). We referenced the plug diagram wrong, had the wires flipped 180. Engine flooded, I cranked it with plugs out to remove the gas, spark somewhere, engine suddenly on fire next to house, then had to douse it with water

The press clamps the mold together. There’s not a whole lot going on here other than they have a big casting using some alloy they probably didn’t need to develop, considering there are many in existence that would probably work just as well.

Sorry if this double posts. Kinja problems…

It’s the TY85 transmission code (same as STI), but with no DCCD. Gears 1-4 are same as STI, but 5 and 6 are longer. The 5 speed is code TY75 and the 6 speeds in modern WRXs are the 5 speed with a 6th gear.

You were in one of the few walkable areas. Many of the older parts of Dallas like Upper/Lower Greenville, Downtown, Uptown, and Deep Ellum are fairly walk-able, although some of these areas have seen more development in the last 10 years that have enabled this. Dallas does have a lot of strip malls and grocery stores

WRX. Horribly weak transmission (broke 3rd getting onto the highway with 400whp). Weak rear diff, but better than the transmission. 400hp is playing with fire on the stock block. Nothing about the drivetrain should be in a performance car.
