The whole “I don’t like Trump but Hillary was...[whatever]” argument is frustrating on so many levels. She wasn’t great and she probably would have protected the rich more than I’d like but saying you have to vote for Reality Show Carnival Barker Pussy Grabber because Hillary is not likable enough or Pizzgate or some…

I think it’s an exaggerated us vs them effect as well. What’s that psychology called...social identity maybe? It’d be kind of sad if it wasn’t terrifying. Reasons are for reasonable people (as Captain Awkward says) and these types of people are evidently not reasonable.

I usually try to find the logic of people with a viewpoint different from mine but those who think their side would never ever ever do anything wrong ever confound me. Defending someone they’ve never met...there’s just no logic there. Their delusion seems to be infinite. Hopefully not but it feels that way sometimes.

I’m in Texas and surrounded by people like your friend. Kudos to you for poking at her reasoning. I’m just mostly exhausted at this point. I hate Cornyn but glad if he is actually alarmed at his president’s actions.

I also think there’s also some “so what if I did, whadda you gonna do about it?” mentality to the whole administration. These politicians yell and scream when the other side does XYZ but it’s ok when they do it because it serves them in some way.

I’m skipping this season at least ‘til he’s off...hopefully next week. Poor Lindsey had to create that non committal comment. This show is usually fun fluff with great production, costume and set people. Casting the “love to hate” characters like Perry and Spicer sucks. I’m really hating what the producers are doing.

I liked the show for a hot minute because I worked in a newsroom. Somehow my initial reaction to mentions of the show is still good and then I remember how it got really problematic very quickly. And Keefer was such a douche!

All it would have taken was a “that’s assault, and you’re disgusting.”

I’m in Texas as well and remember a couple open carry incidents not to long ago. There was the pile of people with long guns at a Chipotle and another group of open carriers who harassed a serviceman who started recording them. It’s alarming to see open carry long guns in a store. Theses idiots are never going to save…
