“This is an unfortunate situation and our officers had a tough situation there. But I think they did a good job in showing restraint,” Miller said.

I have posted this elsewhere so apologies if others have seen it before, but I also struggled some with articulating the difference. I could understand at some base level that “transgender” and “transracial” are not equivalent, but I couldn’t quite nail it. I like to think that I’m not an asshole so I mostly stayed

IT’S ABOUT TIME. This woman did not deserve to be a political pawn.

Why are more men not speaking out against this bullshit idea of their biology leading them to rape? Or being the reason why there are so many crap gender-specific dress code rules in school so the boys don’t get distracted from studying?

Best wishes! I hope you make it, too.

I pretty much disrupted my guy’s proposal plans by spontaneously asking him first.

Your grandma is my favorite.

My dude and I had dated loooong ago. Freshman year of college. Then I dumped him for lame 18-year-old-girl reasons, and we lost touch. We both married other people who turned out to be horrible (in shockingly similar, really terrible ways. Like drug abuse and incest.) After we both got divorced, we found each other

My grandma was a total badass and trailblazer, and my grandpa was shy and sweet. Family lore holds that one morning he was heading out to do chores and she said “I thought I’d make us some cake this afternoon and have the pastor over.” He assents. She adds “...And then I thought while he’s here we could get married.”

I technically did the asking, I’m not sure if this counts though.

Because race and sex are not the same thing. Outside of identity politics bullshit, there is a complex biological system underlying sexual differentiation, and there’s a ton of evidence to suggest that what happens with women like Caitlyn Jenner is that there is a mismatch between the sexual differentiation of their

At least they want you back. At many places having a baby automatically bumps you from the promotion/management track and onto the mommy track.

Threads like this honestly make me hate men. I know that’s not necessarily fair or reasonable, but it’s how it makes me feel. As Elaine Benes once said, “I’m not a lesbian! I hate men, but I’m not a lesbian.”

There are few things more annoying than being called out by some smug jackass who cries, “I thought you don’t believe in God!” when the occasional OMG passes my lips (which is often, because, like you so eloquently put it, it’s a “linguistic habit.”

Oh, gawd, I cannot wait for the day when my wife makes more than I do. Then I can quit my job and go do something I love! Your boss sounds like the worst kind of dinosaur.

I had a boss tell me that he was paying a male coworker more because "he has a family." What a load of horseshit.

When I was getting laid off my idiot boss told me the timing was partially because I was “about to get married and will probably leave soon anyway.” When I reminded him that marital status wasn’t a legally okay reason to lay someone off, he got really sweaty really fast. Asshole.

And you just know that if you were asking for more money and you had kids they’d be all “Why should we pay you more? You put in less work than the men because you’re a mother and you took maternity leave and you take time out to raise them”. Uggh.

Sadly this happens all. the. time. In fact, it’s a pretty standard defense when people talk about why men generally make more than women: Men have to “provide” for their families, so they need to make more. Women, on the other hand, are just frittering away their time until they have babies, so we don’t need as much.
