Then we disagree. I'm pretty secure in saying that Seasons 6 and 7 were terrible and they're relatively few bright spots were not worth the deep, extended nadirs in quality between.

Fair enough. We disagree.
It SHOULD have ended in Season 5 when she died.
I'm aware. And it made for a pretty shitty, unentertaining season of television.
I disagree. I don't think it was as intelligent or allegorical as Buffy was, but I don't think it was trying to be. I think it was basically a Western dressed up as a modern vampire tale... new 'sheriff' comes to town to take down all the criminals that have been running things.
Speaking as a Buffy fan and a comic book fan...that sounds fucking terrible...
That's quite a cocktail.
I always found it interesting that the vampire versions of the humans were opposite sides of the same coin.
You can judge somebody by their actions. You cannot judge somebody's attitudes or speculate on their behavior towards 50% of the population based on how they treated one individual.
I think that was kind of the point. They were using each other as a way to deal with their own self-loathing.
That was a terrible fucking episode.
That's genuinely ridiculous.
He tried to rape her at the end of season 6, throughout the course of which she physically and emotionally abused him to no end.
On one hand, Spike tried to rape her.
Angel is the right choice.
Ok, but that's an example of treating one person badly, not 'women' in general.
2-8% is the lower boundary, derived from rape reports to police that can be determined to be definitely false (or definitely unfounded) to nearly a criminal court standard. I could just as easily flip that around and say that "only" 6% of rape accusations are true, because that is the percentage of reports that…

Ok, but wronging your wife does extend to treating women badly in general. It's a specific relationship.
Treat women like what? As far as I could tell everything he did looked totally consensual and was enthusiastically received by every woman he did anything with.
