I’m with you. I was once a magazine junkie, when I worked in advertising, but haven’t purchased a paper magazine in a decade. I think it’s because I enjoy most of my favorite magazines (and other picture/text media) online via my desktop– which has a large-format cinema monitor. It’s the scale of my monitor which has

Sigh. Magazine junkie here. I’m fine with most books in digital form but prefer magazines in print.

More to the point: why is Obama silent?

Allow me to play the role of Trump’s inner monologue:

The people in my life who were Bernie bros or other third-partiers and spent the last year DRAGGING hillary and then either didn’t vote for her when it counted or else smugly confessed to holding their noses and voting for her are now all upset and panicking and it makes me want to fucking scream.

Hey, but at least we kept that bitch Killary outta office, amirite folks?

How have they still not learned anything in the 8 years of wasting Obama’s time and screwing over the country?

God, Chaffetz is a shitbag. He’s the Shkreli of Congress.

I’m an independent in Ohio......voting 100% democrat this year. Fuck these clowns.

Congressional Republicans in a Clinton presidency are going to make the last 8 years look like they were holding hands and singing Kumbaya with President Obama.

Yeah, the brain can play tricks on you for sure. It does look oily at first, but if you look hard at all the white streaks on the legs you’ll see that it is just paint after a few seconds.

Um, I’ll be the asshole: that was terrible. Are we listening to the same thing? It was so blah— totally the antithesis of the original (or even a good local production).

Nothing wrong with a little nerdcore.

I hate myself for it, but I can’t be the only asshole that thought of a butt joke with that headline.

I hear stuff like this and I wonder: really? Has he really “reignited” or advanced the discussion? Is there quantifiable proof? The advancement I’m seeing here is the race to see who can have the most original or creative National Anthem “protest.”

Trying to be ironic in such a way with something like a movie title probably isn’t the best if you are aiming for commercial success however, especially if critical reception is lukewarm at best.

I’ll be honest, whenever I hear “The Birth of a Nation” I immediately think of the famous silent film known for its racists depictions of black people and somewhat positive view towards the KKK.

I’ve never understood the concept of presuming that someone else should pay for your childcare, in an age where having a child is pure personal lifestyle choice, and almost all of our global problems are about there ALREADY being too damn many people, whom we’re fast losing the ability to feed at this growth rate.
