Are there any other musicians here who are a little disturbed at how effortlessly talented this fucker is?

I knew your dad would love it if I had oatmeal again. It's not like I wanted to.

Oh, thanks (and yes, trademarks). For a minute I thought I woke up in a different universe.

What the hell? You can't copyright titles, as far as I know, unless it is too distinctive and heavily associated with a known product.

I'm glad my every move is not dictated by you, lest I suffer your ire.

Yeah, the film goes out of the way to mention that this much talking is not normal for them. And I thought the car ride was dead on perfect and realistic.

My favorite part is the flatscreen TV with the ugly tangle of wires spilling down out of it, down the wall. And, on a related note, the string still attached to the one guy's hat in the dance club sequence.

The script was fine, but simply what you would expect from the scenario—ie, there was no real point to it.

If he showed them a dubbed film, this is an outrage.

Seduced and Abandoned is one of those titles where it seems a little sleazy to deprive a perfectly good film of the exclusive rights to it…that always gives me a "hey man, why did you have to do that" feeling…

No, you're right—I felt bad bc I should have directed the comment at the paid writers…

While that is technically what the words mean, your usage here of in media res is incorrect. I only mention this because the misuse of the phrase by the site's writers has been bugging me lately. They need to spend some money on an editor, big time.

Ugh, yes, thank you! I think I must have made up the suicide part, that probably didn't help me in trying to track it down…I don't think he's even a writer, apparently. I guess I was conflating it w/ Reprise, which, if I had known was by the same director, would have solved it instantly. Anyway, thanks!

IRRELEVANCE ALERT Sorry to do this, but what is the name of that movie—Norweigian or Danish or something—whose title is just a date, and it's about a writer who is going to kill himself? Came out a year or two ago…Shit can't be googled…

Boy, doesn't it just put the brakes on Stop Making Sense? Like those crappy songs Scott Miller let the girl have on Lolita Nation. Fuck democracy.

What's with that first sentence? Did we change the meaning of Emperor's New Clothes to mean something like "a switchup that works for superficial reasons"? I mean, what?

Thank you, that is more what I meant: the tireless use of it. It was mildly amusing at first.

I can't take issue with your take on my using the phrase, but I figured it's old and established (and simply useful) enough to not be attempting to be clever. It merely does the same job as "peaked and is now declining," with just some extra added flavor. Once things mature past trend, they merely become the usual

Is there anyone who doesn't at this point? But in case you are having trouble, here's the first definition that  comes up upon googling:
"a term to describe a moment when something that was once great has reached a point where it will now decline in quality and popularity."
The site has definitely peaked and begun its
