Yeah, same — in the last console generation, the only Activision games I purchased were Skylanders, and the last Blizzard game I bought was the original Warcraft on PC circa 1998.
Lego Lord of the Rings couldn’t be made backwards compatible because Lego/Tt/WB no longer have rights for Tolkein properties.
The irony being that right wingers actually believe they’re the scrappy rebels who are trying to bring “freedom” to the world.
Yeah, was coming to post the same. Sure, it *could* be a coincidence, but the last couple years have me rethinking the validity of Hanlon’s razor. A very vocal minority of the US wants to take their ball and go home by any possible means.
Because different countries have different laws; that’s how the law works in Japan. They’re going to fine the dude for most of his profits—Nintendo will get some and the government will get the rest—and then put him in jail for probably a few weeks or maybe months.
Nonsensical or not, Japan has much stricter copyright laws than the US. Whereas we consider such a violation here a financial legal issue (i.e., someone makes a tiny unapproved modification to your product and resells it, so you first issue a cease-and-desist order and then sue the shit out of them if they continue),…
Not exactly a “prodigy,” but I was in all the gifted programs and AP classes throughout school, and now at 40 I’m currently an unemployed (after a 16 year career of serial under-employment) IT technician who only gets job offers from IT call centers that pay $11 an hour... which is less than what I could make working…

I’ve seen multiple Uwe Boll films. His take on House of the Dead was... head scratching; there were dead, sure, but no house! And Alone in the Dark was pretty bad, but dare I say... fun?
Psst, the game coming out on Friday is Balan Wonderworld (not Wonderland, as currently spelled above).
I remember being friggin terrified of the monster in Caravan of Courage at age 5, but thinking that Mace was just the coolest.
This seems extremely susceptible to NIMBY-syndrome — “Not In My Back Yard”
Seriously. I don’t need a “smart” refrigerator or microwave, I just need appropriately sized boxes that respectively keep my fold cold or make it hot, like everyone in every developed country has had for the last 60ish years. NO ONE needs to be able to check the fridge’s temperature from their smartphone—it’s the same…
