The problem is that once cops have armoured vehicles and military rifles and all this other shit they don’t need, they start looking for excuses to use it.  They shouldn’t have this stuff to begin with.

JFC - there is NO force in this country that needs that kind of vehicle - outside of the military in a fucking WAR ZONE.

we are a third world country. just one with a lot of money. we lack alot of basic services real world leading countries have.  all we have is a large military and a large slave labor force we incarcerated for that purpose.

I don’t know about that. Look at what happened to us in Vietnam, Iraq (2nd war) and Afghanistan. It does seem that we spend alot on the military to fight yesterday’s war. 

In the U.S. we have one political party leveraging high Covid infection rates for political power, and discouraging vaccination. It’s not unlike failed states where local warlords generate artificial famines and hijack UN aid convoys to control the distribution of food.

It needs to be at least a 2-4 year associates or bachelor degree program with dedicated credits and ROTC type training. If we’re going to treat police officers as a multi-tool for any domestic problem under the sun, we need to train them as such.

The stop strip isn’t the easy answer a lot of people think it is. It actually takes a lot of training and a fair degree of skill to use safely, and too many PDs don’t do the training (or the officers forget it as soon as they leave).
