Youd still be turning the wheel to get that much angle in any other car. This is a non issue. Can you guys please find something else to talk about other than the Cybertruck?

You couldn’t turn the wheels on any other truck with standard EPAS any faster. It’s not the wheels’ response that’s slow, it’s the steering wheel that’s fast because it has such a short lock-to-lock.
No, this is a dumb take.
Has this site turned in the TESLA message board?? OMG..
After watching the video in slow motion several times, the first few fractions of second, there is no observable delay. There isn’t any lag.
Ludicrous incompetence from Tesla. GM had the 45-pound tungsten cube issue licked in the 50's! When we were young, we’d drop 45-pound tungsten cubes on each other just to say good morning! Has Musk learned nothing from other car makers?
How would anyone notice the delay while on their phone?
The internet was a mistake.
Realistically the speed of the steering is fine and it’s not so much lag (or in other words, a response delay) as it is the operator is able to move the steering wheel faster than the steering rack can actually move. In a conventional steering system you’ll meet some resistance in the steering wheel that prevents you…
What? This basically states the RZ is slower by more than twice as much than the Cybertruck. I’m pretty sure the real story here is how bad the RZ is.
Isn’t the ratio greatly quickened when stopped like this? So, at higher speed, the driver would likely have to turn the steering wheel even further, which would reduce the lag.
Of all the things to complain about, this is pretty much a non-issue. Steering effort is always highest at a stop since the tires are 100% scrubbing. It’s not a good way to see the response from any system. Even a slight roll would probably make it much less noticeable
You’re assuming they weren’t on some sort of government assistance already!
When you have a pretty stellar history and make a whoopsie you do get a bit of a pass. Especially if you make it right (Toyota frame rust?), but if you continually fuck up and don’t ever make it right, that is a bigger issue.
Imagine the outrage and mockery if this happened to a domestic carmaker. But Toyota gets a pass. Again.
Dammit... take your stars!!!
This happens almost 100% of the time with every Japanese sports car. Japanese car people are some of the most snobbish, gatekeeping-ass bunch of stubborn nostalgia freaks alive. It’s almost a complete mirror image of what the muscle car scene was like in the 2000s.
Not to directly attack the writer, but fuck this headline and the hyperbole. I’m sick of finger wagging at car enthusiasts for being “the reason” a car goes away. Pull your heads out of your asses and understand the Supra was launched right in the middle of a generational economic and world affecting event. It was…
Porsche was notorious for this sort of thing even before Tesla existed.
I’m just saying that when Japan and Germany team up on a project, the outcome is kinda doubtful.
