I completely agree, and I too relished his loss. I felt like I was watching a Phelps colonoscopy. Even local news outlets in my area treated Manuel as a footnote to Phelps’s “been there, done that” performance. Yes, he’s good at what he does (and he’s won a bunch of medals), but the women deserved all of the spotlight…
