Are we really getting worked up about gentrification and income inequality in *Menlo Park*?? It’s smack in the middle of Silicon Valley. It would be full of tech workers whether Facebook was there or not, and housing prices there are already FAR above the level that would be affordable for low-income workers. The

The audio for this sounds like EDM.

It drives me crazy to see articles like this pointing out “puppy mills and commercial breeders” like they’re the bad guys here. Puppy mills are bad, yes, but they are NOT the problem here. The problem is those very “reputable breeders” that we’re always told to seek out. The ones that will only accept the purest

The real trick is to do both: Cook it for half the microwave time in the microwave, and then bake it for half the baking time. It still gets nice and crispy, and cuts the wait time in half.

It’s a good question - I found out recently that East Asians categorise obesity at a different BMI, because for them weight-related health risks begin at lower BMIs than for other ethnicities. It made me curious if Pacific Islanders might be the opposite, and be healthier at higher BMIs.

This is a shameless nostalgia plug, and I don’t care. I love it.

I love the utter disregard for historical verisimilitude. None of those clothes look remotely hand-made, the architecture is way too extreme, and that troop armor at 0:43 looks like something out of the Hunger Games.

What’s happening with that conversation at the end? I get that Dinklage is reacting to “benevolent” but no matter how many times I listen I can’t make out what either of them are saying before that...

Did you just put a spoiler warning immediately *after* the biggest possible spoiler you could have posted? :)

If this has decent legs, I think “sequel with lower budget” is where it’ll end up. Honestly, it had no business being greenlit with such a big budget in the first place. The movie is doing as well as could be expected given the property, the cast, etc. Short of breaking out and being a real surprise smash

As far as I’m aware, “story by” basically means: you were involved with the film during the early stages of development, and we feel obliged to credit you with something or other because of that, but we didn’t actually use any of your stuff.

Personally, I keep my fingernails long, which makes guitar playing impossible. I also like singing, and would enjoy being able to strum out some basic accompaniment. If it were cheaper, I’d definitely consider buying this. Obviously it’s not a substitute for learning guitar, but it sounds like a great substitute for

Can confirm: -10F is not fun. But you’ll get a few days at that temperature every winter in Canada, and millions of people just go about their daily lives.

I think they’ve missed the point here. A lot of what was so interesting and clever about The LEGO Movie was that it *was*, at its core, a movie about people sitting around playing with LEGOs.

“and a Silicon Valley star”

Honestly, that’s better than most biopic casting. Both of them look to be pretty good looking by non-hollywood standards, and Domhnall Gleeson isn’t really “hollywood handsome” anyways.

Ironically, in The Martian that China saves the day plot point is actually straight from the book. But it’s a little more thematically relevant there - there’s a great little scene where one of the Chinese scientists laments how they spent years of their life preparing that rocket to do important science, and now it’s

Better than I could do.

Oh, it’s a goverment-run mining operation? Nevermind, I was the one confusing things then. How complicated.
