Just like original Beetles, you don’t really need to preserve every car like that for posterity - there are tons of them out there. It’s not a rare vehicle by any means. If you want to suffer through the noise, unreliability, smoke, and low power of cars like that, more power to you I guess, but I’d like to appreciate…
Most of the expansions for 4 are just repeats of stuff already in 3, and the open world plus community content really tips the balance for me. I just can’t imagine spending the obscene amount it would take to buy 4 + expansions to get to where I would be in 3.
Depends on the car. A Renault 4 doesn’t sound good, is slow, and really not much of a driving experience.
Games like Assassin’s Creed get bigger and bigger every year, and they feel more and more boring and interminable for it. I never bothered to finish RDR2 because it got so stale. Sure, graphics are nice, but so many of the big budget games just aren’t at all compelling after a while.
It’s obviously a tongue-in-cheek way to teach a little scientific fact. My mineralogy professor in undergrad loved to complain about snowflakes with the incorrect number of arms on them too - it’s a very on-brand kind of thing for scientists.

The “small farms are better” people completely miss the land use argument too - efficient farming allows more land to stay untilled, forested, and open. The farms themselves might be more environmentally problematic, but the net effect will be lower environmental impact.
GMOs do not necessarily require more intensive agriculture - it depends entirely on the variety (which is the crux of why anti-GMO people are so ludicrously wrong). You’re conflating a couple varieties of RoundUp-Ready strains with the entirety of biotech. Plenty of GMO types actually require less herbicidal use,…
Living in W Europe, I can confirm. Europeans are really condescending about American scientific literacy, and they then proceed to shriek about “toxins,” GMOs, pesticides, and plenty of other unscientific garbage.
Getting dragged on your own article is becoming a proud Splinter tradition.
It may get to 40C (104F) here in Belgium this week, which would be the hottest it has ever been on record. The fun part is that absolutely nobody has AC.
It is forecasted to hit 40C (104F) here in the Low Countries later this week, which would be an all-time record, and it’s due to the jetstream changing course, caused in part by warming oceans.
Albania, which is a Muslim country, is also part of NATO. Bosnia is a membership candidate. Turkey isn’t the only Muslim country in NATO.
Indeed, it’s just a body kit on a Jumper, but if you’re operating a food truck, aesthetics are really the only point in an H van anyway, and this one is larger, more fuel efficient, and more reliable.
If you just want a retro food truck, there’s a new version available. It’s not as good looking, but good enough for a food truck.
Yeah, nearly everything in Siem Reap is either an RX300 or a Camry.
Western? Turkey has been a secular state since the end of WWI - I sure hope ‘Western’ isn’t a code word for ‘white’ like it is on much of the internet.
No insurer on its own has enough bargaining power to seriously cut the rates it pays to providers.
I know someone who is constantly posting guillotine memes and alluding to some imminent violent revolution - I wonder how these sorts think that would go down. Some DSA people throwing rocks vs. the most well-funded military in the world, plus every militarized police department in the country? Is there some alternate…
