Someone on my block replaced their 159 wagon with a Stelvio, so now I have to look at it instead. Awful.

This is getting close to the ‘magazine vs. clip’ pedantry of gun humpers.

Fivethirty was pretty accurate, and if you read any of their commentary about how polling works, you’d know that they were very open with the strengths and weaknesses of polling. The people who really missed are the news outlets that interpreted a 35% chance of victory as “completely impossible.”

It’s amazing how many of the reviews manage to acknowledge their own mistake and still blame the developer: “Aren’t I a total mug preordering this?”

so in keeping with that Patriotic™ theme, you’d expect it to be built by striking coal workers in Yorkshire or something.

My “free” healthcare comes out of my 50% tax rate.

I don’t see anyone complaining.

but it’d be far better to amend and fix it

Be sure to blame the Democrats when the Republicans sabotage the implementation and Fox News convinces the right that it’s a communist takeover plot.

The AMG G63's true speed is 55mph in a school zone.

Splinter often posts facile trash like this. They spend far more time trashing people on the left than the right wing maniacs currently in power.

I’m usually with my wife (also American), but haven’t had any issue when traveling with my parents either. I’m sure it happens, especially in places that get a lot of tourists (locals in Amsterdam have really come to hate tourists with a passion, for instance, given how many tourists behave like animals there).

That happens often, but it’s for speaking English with an American accent.

I’ll say it: it’s rude to speak anything but the lingua franca in public, in any country, outside of obvious tourist areas.

Thanks for confirming that you’re the asshole and not everyone else. Looking forward to the next ban - at this rate you should be due any minute now.

How am I collecting all the idiots today

We do outproduce KSA, but there are some catches. Refinery capacity is a bigger limiting factor for the US, and a number of refineries were built specifically to handle Saudi crude, so we can’t just switch inputs all that easily.

It drops by the inverse square of the distance (I think).

they get the same tax breaks as every other industry

It’s not just that we are the largest, as KSA once was, it’s that there are more producing countries than there used to be. That makes it harder for any actor, or even a cartel like OPEC to change prices much. When you add in contango storage, that makes global prices even less vulnerable to force.
